I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of this trend that is turning board games into films. It just doesn't make a lot of sense. That said, if anyone could maybe make something great out of this concept, it's Ridley Scott.
In addition to another "Alien" film and his own vision of "Robin Hood," the talented director and producer is also gearing up to bring Monopoly, the Parker Bros. board game, to the big screen.
MTV spoke to Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner and here is what he has to say about the film, and how it is progressing:
"The great part about Monopoly is the history, literally the history of the creation of the brand and the fact that the brand is 75 years old so you have this great opportunity for the real history as well as the fictional history to tell stories of families and characters."
Expect to see Park Place and Boardwalk on the big screen in 2012 or 2013.
